Black Ball, a Taiwanese dessert place in Ipoh serving silken grass jelly. The story of how Black Ball started is inspiring. Three men who knew nothing about F&B, each in different industries like tourism and engineering, got together and started their business because of one bowl of heavenly grass jelly in Kansai, Taiwan. Thanks to their tireless continuation of improvement and expansion, we get to enjoy this Taiwanese dessert in Ipoh too!
The Black Ball Signature (RM6.90) with its sweet, herbal grass jelly is decadent, topped with goodies like yam balls, taro Q, red beans, and “pearls” (aka tapioca).
The QQ Soya Ice Delight (RM6.90) has quite similar toppings to the Black Ball Signature, but it has shaved soy ice underneath instead. A delight indeed in Malaysia’s hot weather!
This saucer here is fondly known as the “UFO” in Taiwan, which lights up to notify you that your order is ready for pick up at the counter.
Overall interior in Black Ball is bright, comfortable and the smooth grass jelly will make you come back for more 🙂
